Remember that lots of words need accented letters .
You can use these accent shortcuts if you have a full sized keboard (i.e. with a separate number pad)
You need to press the ALT key, then the number shortcut, e.g. ALT 133 = à, ALT 130 = é

Of course, there are other ways of adding accents to letters.
Thank you for showing my son how to change the language in Microsoft Word to French. The software then helped him to correct his accents by highlighting omissions and making suggestions. He redid his work as he could use this to make sure it was correct. In future he can use this on his own to help him check his work.
